Anjali, age 13
TIS writer of 2 years

Before you even meet Anjali at our studio, you’ll like hear her lovely voice carrying a tune from room to room. But Anjali’s voice is equally powerful in her writing. She writes boldly and with passion as she creates new worlds and characters with a clear vision for every detail. We love the enthusiasm she brings to every class and can’t overstate the unmistakable mark she’s made here at our studio.

Anjali, what are your favorite classes and camps here at TIS?

I really enjoyed going to A Week at Hogwarts camp last summer, and a couple of my favourite classes are Philosophy, D&D, and Character Design & World Building.

How have you grown or changed in your time at TIS?

I did not write or socialise all that much before I came here. I wrote occasionally, when inspiration would suddenly hit me, but now I’m prompted by these assignments to create something specific. That helps me get on track and actually finish my writing pieces. I also have quite a few friends now and I’m so glad to have them. I love being at The Ink Spot. I’ve made so many friends that I now hang out with frequently, whereas before, I didn’t know many people and sort of just enjoyed writing. Now it’s quite a strong passion of mine and I know so many things that I didn’t before I came here. It’s one of my favourite places in Vegas. ❤️

And finally, what do you like to do when you aren’t here performing captivating one-person shows or creating immersive fantasy worlds?

Well, I love going places with my friends, such as the town square or the Galleria Mall on Sunset. I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts and music, and drawing or painting. I cook often for my family, and love to bake as well.

Anjali’s wonderful mom Rayna says:
”Anjali’s experience at The Ink Spot has provided her with the tools and structure that she needed to take her raw creativity and produce written works with much greater depth and quality. She has also gained new inspiration that has allowed her to think differently about writing and creating. In her classes at the studio, Anjali has strengthened her foundational reading comprehension and analysis, grammar, and writing skills as well, which will serve her incredibly well as she moves into high school this fall. One of the skills that she has gained from her time at the studio that has impressed me the most is a new level of critical thinking, which is so very important, especially for young minds, in our culture today.”
