Emily, age 9
TIS writer of 2 years
Meet Emily, a bold and unforgettable writer at The Ink Spot who has been using her unique ideas to make her mark here for two years! Emily is an elaborate writer and observant reader. The topics she writes about are always intriguing and unexpected, and she fills our studio with laughter every week.
Emily, what is a project you feel really proud of?
I’m really proud of an Ode I wrote in Art and Writing because I'd never written a poem before. Or that time I wrote a scary campfire story at camp. It'll knock your socks off. It was the scariest story out of all of them that week.
How have you grown since joining our studio?
Before I was scared to even write and now I'm writing whole stories. Being at the studio helps me with my language arts. Now I'm like, "Hey I'm ready to write", you know? Being here made me be a more confident and now I feel popular.
What are you learning about when you aren’t here writing amazing short stories and creating cool art?
Emily’s marvelous mom Nicole says:
”Emily is a much more confident reader and writer! Her spelling, vocabulary, and storytelling skills have all improved. Her teachers are wonderful and make learning fun. The Ink Spot has also been a great place for my child to make new friends! Before joining The Ink Spot, Emily used to avoid writing. Now, she looks forward to her writing classes every week.”
