Raise your shield, sharpen your wits, and prepare for an epic Viking adventure! This action-packed week of storytelling, creativity, and friendly competition will transform young warriors into legendary Norse heroes as they embark on a daring quest for Valhalla.
Throughout the week, campers will:
Forge Their Viking Identity – Choose a Viking name, create a family crest, and design a personal shield to carry into battle. Warriors will craft leather wrist cuffs and amulets for protection on their journey.
Write Their Own Viking Saga – Using historical fiction techniques, students will craft thrilling stories inspired by Norse mythology, legendary creatures, and real Viking adventures. Their sagas will be recorded on parchment scrolls, sealed with a Viking-style mark, and presented at the final gathering.
Compete in Viking Challenges – Brave souls will test their strength, strategy, and wit with thrilling competitions. Each challenge will earn warriors glory for their clan!
Explore Norse Myths & Legends – Students will discover the gods, giants, and mystical creatures that filled Viking lore, then sculpt their own mythological creatures from clay to incorporate into their stories.
Craft Viking Relics & Artifacts – Campers will bring the Viking world to life through hands-on projects, including minature longships, rune stones, and tavern goblets for feasting in the Viking Mead Hall
The Viking Mead Hall Celebration – The week culminates in a raucous, immersive gathering in a traditional Viking mead hall. Warriors will feast on rustic bread, cider “mead,” and Norse-inspired treats while boasting of their adventures, sharing their final sagas, and earning their place in Valhalla.

Throughout the week, campers will:
Create a Miniature Market – Sculpt tiny fruits, pastries, fish, or the food of your choice out of clay to build a supercute miniature market or bakery stand!
Write a “Recipe For…” – A twist on traditional recipes, this imaginative writing project challenges students to create a Recipe for Friendship, A Perfect Day, or even a Disaster!
Put Their Taste Buds to the Test – Get your blindfold and taste buds ready as we put your palate to the test, giving you various tastes and sips to see if you can guess the brand and price of each item!
Design a Fictional Restaurant Menu – Whether it’s wizard fine-dining, a space-themed diner, or a cat café with the cutest treats, campers will create a restaurant menu complete with descriptions, pricing, and a signature dish!
Make & Decorate Real Snacks – No ovens required! We know you'll work up an appetite with all this fun writing and creating, so every afternoon you'll prepare simple, fun snacks
Prepare for the end of week Poetry Cafe - Campers will write a variety of poems and create a mini clay treat in preparation for our Fun Friday poetry cafe
